Northwest received career performances from Molly Hartnett and Jayna Green Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't enough as Central Oklahoma pulled away late for a 61-51 win.

The Bearcats (4-7) were in a back and forth battle with the Bronchos throughout the second half, but UCO went on a 12-1 run in the third quarter and held a 12-point lead with 1:34 to play in the period. From there, Hartnett and Green went to work in an attempt to bring the 'Cats back.

Hartnett hit a three-pointer late in the third quarter, then opened the fourth quarter with a bucket and free throw for an old school three-point play. Green snared an offensive rebound on the next possession and got the put back. Then Green got a steal and Hartnett sank a layup and free throw to bring Northwest within three points of UCO.

But the comeback stopped their as the Bronchos managed to push the lead with points on three consecutive possessions.

Hartnett notched a new career-high in points with 26 against the Bronchos. That eclipses her previous high of 22 points from the first game of the season.

Green recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. It marked the second time in three games that she pulled down double-digit boards. The sophomore from Omaha also had two assists, two steals and two blocked shots.

Northwest Missouri State goes on the road next week. The Bearcats face Lincoln at 5:30pm Thursday. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 5pm.
